Most of us have them and some of us more than we know. I was feeling down today, upset about not having a job and actually mad. I spoke to two dear friends of mine and they helped me settle down. One, she let me vent and the other gave me some ideas.
Ever have those days where nothing went right? You felt like you were playing poker with old maid cards? Not a good feeling is it. Then you shared with someone, a friend and BANG...you felt a little better about your deal. Now it may have not changed things but you felt better for a brief minute.
What do your friends mean to you? Are they your arm floaties? Did they help you through a difficult time? I bet they helped and some may have not even known it. That's a good feeling to know that you have friends isn't it?
"Michael, where are you going with this?"
Sometimes we forget to thank them for being just that...our friend. Remember those that have been there for you and thank them. Just walk right up to them, if you can, and say "Thank you for being my friend". It goes along way. You just showed them that you appreciate them.
Share your comments to me, I want to hear them. All of them. Now I need you to do me a favor, go be a friend to someone. You may be surprised in what you find.
So true! I received an email with everything you said above. Put me on top of the world. Which is code for, "I'm getting old and it made me cry".
ReplyDeleteI think it only furthers and strengthens a friendship to exchange those words. And it makes it easier to make another friend knowing you can be a good friend.
Keep up the pontifications!
Mike, was a little busy over the weekend, but have had a chance to catch up on the new blog. Like it! Thanks for the encouragement.
ReplyDeleteLove you!
